Millsboro Middle School Cheerleading Program
MMS has three cheerleading teams.
Competition is almost year-round. Tryouts in May through the State Championship in March. They practice a few times in summer, attend sleep-away cheer camp in August, and practice once a week or so until mid-January and then it's every day. Competitions are every weekend in February. There are mandatory fundraisers like concessions at a local wrestling tournament in early January, vertical raise, ad sales, and a car wash (or whatever the team moms come up with). They also performed at a University of Delaware Basketball game, and may again in the future.

Fall cheer tries out at the beginning of their season, usually the first week of school. Football games are typically once per week and there are a few soccer and volleyball games, too. Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays.

Winter cheer tries out at the beginning of their season, usually mid-November. Wrestling and basketball are historically on Mondays and Wednesdays. We practice before each game/match and on Mondays/Wednesdays with no game/match. They also participate in 2 Christmas parades.

Spring Season

You must have a physical to try-out for any Spring Sport.  All physicals dated as of 4/1/2023 are good for the entire 2023-24 school year.  Any student interested in trying out for a spring sport must have a physical completed and submitted to Nurse King before try-outs.  All information must be submitted on a DIAA physical form.     DIAA Physical Form (Click me)
